Old and St Andrew's Church is located on the High Street in Montrose. Montrose is a busy seaside town situated on the east coast of Scotland approximately half way between Aberdeen and Dundee.

There is to be some relaxation in the covid restrictions affecting Sunday services. The overall cap of 50 in numbers in still in place for this Sunday but from May will be removed though we are still required to adhere to 2m social distancing. Some of the seating “spots” in the Church will be adjusted so that we can accommodate some people who are part of the same household or bubble. Until we see how things work out, we will still ask people to phone to indicate they are planning to come. From next week, you will be asked to indicate how many are coming together eg a couple, or three from one family. You may be asked to sit as a group in a particular area of the Church. The aim is to make it possible to have as many people as we can able to worship together safely. So while, we are still asking people to phone, I hope you see that things are improving a little bit.
We are expecting further guidance from the Church covid group later this week and will need to take account of it.

There is no indication at the moment about being allowed to sing, but representations are being made. That turning point may be a little way away yet.

Anyone displaying any symptoms (or knowing themselves to have been in close contact with someone who has) must not attend worship but stay at home.

If you are thinking of coming please phone Thelma Robb 672263 or Willie Sinclair on 675671 during the week prior to a particular Sunday so that we have an idea of numbers and (From next week onwards) if you are coming as a bubble, how many there will be in the family group.

All congregations have also been asked by the Principal Clerk to strongly encourage people who attend worship not to gather to speak to one another after the service but to return home. There is little point us going to all the bother of seeking to be covid safe if this happens – and it can give people the wrong impression.
